Zyrtec is releasing a storybook through Publicis Groupe Australia to raise awareness of allergy symptoms

Zyrtec Australia has partnered with mother-of-two Phoebe Burgess to raise awareness of the triggers and symptoms of allergic rhinitis in children through a new campaign by Publicis Groupe Australia.

The hay fever relief and allergy treatment brand has teamed up with Phoebe to create a new storybook aimed at parents or guardians of children under six, titled Zach and Zoe’s Hide and Sneeze. The story is inspired by her experience raising children with allergic rhinitis and is given as a free gift with the purchase of Zyrtec products at select pharmacies.

Allergic rhinitis causes symptoms that can include sneezing, a runny nose, and watery, itchy eyes. While many Australians have heard of hay fever, things like dust, pet dander and mold can trigger allergic rhinitis symptoms throughout the year.

Although research shows that children are just as likely to have allergies as adults (56% vs. 58%), a recent survey of 1,000 Australian parents commissioned by Zyrtec found that almost 40% of children are not fully aware of the common allergens they may be exposed to. affects children. The symptoms of allergic rhinitis can be confused with a cold. While allergic rhinitis can be managed, it can cost parents hundreds of dollars each year when they pull their children out of daycare because of misdiagnosed symptoms.

Since bedtime stories are a routine for most young families, Zyrtec found an opportunity to use the nighttime ritual and help bridge the knowledge gap for parents by using the book as a channel to open up conversations about allergies with children.

Oliver Wright, director of Kenvue’s Australian self-care business unit, said: “Zyrtec Storytime aims to close the gap in parental awareness of allergic rhinitis that can lead to symptom confusion and misdiagnosis. Our research has shown that up to two-thirds of Aussie parents miss their child from school or nursery due to allergic rhinitis symptoms At Zach and Zoe’s Hide and Sneeze and the accompanying Publicis Groupe integrated campaign, we’re excited to use the bedtime story ritual as an opportunity for families to learn about allergic rhinitis through imaginative storytelling.

Helge Gruettke, Client Manager, Publicis Groupe Australia, said: “The Zyrtec Storytime campaign is a great example of what can be achieved through collaboration, creativity and multi-channel expertise. This awareness campaign is based on a clear understanding that many parents can relate to, offering them opportunity to discuss the effects of allergies with our children through fun storytelling After three years of partnering with Kenvue, we are excited to continue to innovate and explore new ways to put the power of everyday care into the hands of these consumers.

The multi-format national campaign includes healthcare professional packs for pharmacists, distributed to parents to create awareness and provide education. It is also supported by PR activities and a content and social media partnership with independent women’s media group Mamamia.

The campaign has been produced by Publicis Groupe Australia’s integrated agency solution for Kenvue, which includes talent from Spark Foundry, Leo Burnett, Herd MSL and Arc Worldwide.

Illustrated by Simon Greiner, Zach and Zoe’s Hide and Sneeze is available as a free gift with every Zyrtec purchase at Chemist Warehouse, Terry White Chemmart and other independent pharmacies starting September 1st while supplies last. It is also available as a downloadable e-book at local grocers.
